About Me

Who am I?

Hi, I'm Karina, owner of Created for Delight! Born in Puerto Rico and raised in a Christian family, I’ve always been surrounded by love for God, people, and creativity. I've been painting, singing, and creating for as long as I can remember, using my talents to worship God and serve others.

At 21, I moved to Baltimore with my husband, where God opened doors for both of us professionally and academically. In 2015, we welcomed our first son, and by 2016, my husband began full-time ministry. In 2019, I earned my PhD from Johns Hopkins, and three months later, our second son arrived.

Now, at 32, I'm a mother of two boys, a pastor’s wife, a Bible teacher, a PhD holder, and a systems engineer. Life is wonderfully unpredictable!

Why did I start this blog?

In 2021, I launched "Created for Delight," a small business specializing in handcrafted statement jewelry for Christian women. It was a period of growth and learning, but due to the many roles and ministries I was involved in, the business was short-lived.

While the vision for my business has evolved, the heart behind it remains: sharing the Gospel through my creative process. This blog represents the fulfillment of a long-held promise. It has been years in the making, and I’m thrilled to finally share what God has placed on my heart. I hope you find it inspiring and uplifting.

I’m also excited to announce that my small business is back through my Etsy shop, where you can explore and purchase my handcrafted pieces. I hope you enjoy them!

What will you find on my blog?

Psalm 149:4 reminds us that God delights in His people and adorns the afflicted with salvation. He wants us to experience His joy in every season of life.

You were CREATED FOR DELIGHT. Here, you’ll find words that point you to the Creator who loves you and knows you by name. You’ll also see glimpses of my own messy life—stories meant to encourage and, hopefully, bring a smile to your face. This is a safe space to breathe, recharge, feel valued, and grow.
